My name is Amanda Wootten and this is my 8th year teaching!
I taught first grade for 5 years and now I serve Kelly Edwards as the K-2 Reading and Math Interventionist!
I graduated from Mississippi State University in 1996 with a degree in Human Growth and Development.
In 1997 I married Jamie Wootten who is the pastor at Winfield Heights Baptist Church in Williston, and we have 5 children.
We have lived in Williston for 14 years. Before Williston we lived in Augusta, GA and Wake Forest, North Carolina. After being a substitute here at Kelly Edwards I knew that I wanted to be a fulltime teacher. In September of 2009 I started coursework at Grand Canyon University in Elementary Education.
In December of 2011 I graduated with a Masters in Elementary Education.
In August 2016 I graduated with a Master's Degree in Literacy with Reading Specialist Emphasis from Concordia University Nebraska.
I am currently certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education as well as hold the Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher and Gifted and Talented endorsements.
My favorite things to do are shopping, especially at Kohl's, and watching sports with my family. Football is my favorite sport and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are my team! Go Dawgs!
