My planning period is from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. each day.  I am also available at other times during the school day and after school by appointment.  My e-mail address is  You may also reach me by calling my office number (803) 266-8066.

My name is Lynette Corder and I have a dual-role position at Williston-Elko School District 29.  I am the district's ESOL Coordinator as well the READ 180 reading interventionist at Williston-Elko Middle School.

I hold a B.A. degree in Secondary English from USCAiken.  I also earned my M.Ed in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.  I hold certifications in both elementary education and secondary education (English).  I am currently working to obtain my ESOL certification.

As the ESOL Coordinator, I have the privilege to work with our district's English language learners.  I travel between the elementary, middle, and high schools to service these scholars.  I am also responsible for administering the yearly WIDA ACCESS assessment that each ESOL scholar must take at the end of the year.

At Williston-Elko Middle School, I serve a 6th grade class, a 7th grade class, and an 8th grade class.  These scholars receive daily reading intervention through READ 180, a fabulous program that includes direct instruction, independent reading, and computer time.

I also serve as a teacher mentor.  I am passionate about helping new teachers find their way in the classroom during their first year. I find mentoring teachers very rewarding.  I love seeing teachers succeed and forge their own path to becoming the quality educators that our field so desperately needs.

As a Williston native, I am thrilled to be a teacher in this district.  I have previously taught at Macedonia Elementary in Blackville and Redcliffe Elementary in Jackson.  I am happy to now be here, serving my hometown as a teacher, just as my grandmother did so many years ago.

I am married to David Corder, who is also a native of Williston.  We have 3 sons.  Tommy is a subcontractor and lives in Greenville.  David is a 5th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher at Horse Creek Academy in Aiken.  Anderson is a legal assistant for Knapp Law Firm in Barnwell.

In my free time, I enjoy crafting, home projects, gardening, cooking, and reading.  David and I love road trips and try going to the beach as often as we can.  We also have 3 dogs and 2 cats that entertain us and keep us busy!
