Three Finalists Selected for Superintendent of Schools


 

The Williston School District 29 Board has selected three candidates as finalists for the position of superintendent of schools. Each of these candidates demonstrates the qualities that we believe are important for the superintendent to lead our district.  

The three finalists are (in alphabetical order):

·         Dr. Missoura Ashe

·         Dr. Carol Lenderman

·         Dr. Diane Richardson

Parent Night at WEMS!!

WEMS will be hosting a parents' night on Tuesday, February 10 from 5-7. Tables will be set up along the hallway with information about upcoming field trips, yearbook, Edmodo, Parent Portal, Relay for Life, Career and College  and much more.  Come enjoy a little food, fellowship, and DANCING!  


Stand Up for Schools Campaign

The South Carolina School Boards Association has recently launched: "Stand Up 4 SC Public Schools." Eva Strong Chosen as Coach in North-South Game

Williston-Elko Middle School is proud to announce that Coach Eva Strong has been selected to coach in the 2015 North-South All-Star Basketball Game to be played on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Lexington High School. Coach Strong will be an assistant coach for the North Girls team.  We are all very proud of Coach Strong.


ACT Aspire-New Assessment

 

Please click on the link to see information on the NEW assessment for Grades 3-8 and 11.  This assessment is the ACT Aspire for grades 3-8 in the ELA and math with science as an option and the regular ACT test for 11th grade.  These tests take the place of the South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (SCPASS) and the High School Assessment Program (HSAP).

Williston School District 29 Stands Up to Bullying!


Washington, D.C. Meets WEMS Eighth Graders in May!

On Tuesday night, the Williston-Elko school board approved for the Williston-Elko Middle School eighth graders to travel to Washington, D.C. in May of 2015.  The students will take a four-day trip to Washington, D.C. at the end of May.  If you would like to learn more about the trip, please refer to the links below.
