Course Description:

This course will address the South Carolina state standards for Business Entrepreneurship. ” This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills leading to the development of a business plan for small business ownership.  An important part of the course will be the incorporation of marketing, staffing, and financial considerations.” (South Carolina Dept. of Education) Students will learn to identify and apply business practices and marketing techniques in real life situations.  Students will have a better understanding of business, the role business plays in society and will be able to create their own business plan.


Course Standards:

The course standards for Entrepreneurship are based on the standards found in the Career and Technology Education Course Standards. Students who successfully complete IBA with a passing 60% or higher will have demonstrated the ability, concepts, knowledge, and skills required to meet those course objectives

Class Procedures and Class Rules:

 Students have received a “Student Handbook” outlining daily operations and procedures followed at Williston Elko High School. Class Rules are posted on the wall of the classroom as well as below:


  1. Follow all rules in the student handbook.
  2. Be prepared.
  3. Show respect.
  4. Be on time to class.
  5. No food or drink in the computer lab

Missing/ Makeup and Late Work Policy--It is the student’s responsibility to ask for any missing work or make up work due to absence from class. The students will have 5 days after returning to school to make up work.
