School Bus Driver Appreciation Week

SCHOOL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION WEEK

This years’ observance of School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is the week of May 5-9, 2014.

Driving a school bus is often unappreciated and overlooked; yet, without a doubt school bus drivers have one of the most difficult and demanding jobs in our educational system. There are not many jobs, not matter the occupation, where one moment of inattention, or one simple mistake, can place the safety of fifty to seventy children in jeopardy. . In our state we have over 5,600 school bus drivers. They transport more than 535,000 students to and from school each school day and travel over 73 million miles a year.

Thank a Bus Driver today!

Safety During Athletic Events

Participation in sports offers tremendous social, emotional and physical benefits for children.  As a community, we enjoy watching our students and family members from the sidelines.  However, we must be aware of the many safety issues around us at all of our Athletic Events.  We need to maintain an orderly environment on our premises and we are thankful to all that assist in these efforts.  Parents, please make sure that your children have adult supervision at all times.  Also, make sure that your children are dressed in the proper attire when attending these games.   Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
