Please check out the "Senior Information" board for more information about the new "Palmetto Calculator" to see how much you will have to pay for higher education in SC.

The Palmetto Calculator allows you to compare the cost of different schools, compare the cost of majors at each school, and see how much you will have to pay monthly after you graduate.

 

All students: 

Please check out the information board to find out about the GetSmartSC website. This website allows you to find information about SC colleges, scholarships, student loans, apprenticeships, and more.

Freshmen and Sophomores!

Are you interested in attending a Leadership Conference at Clemson University this summer?

Activities will include leadership workshops, team-building, experiencing college life on Clemson's campus, community engagement, and whitewater rafting.

The cost is $100 for the week, and there are two options during the summer to attend the conference.

Attention Freshmen and Sophomores!

Are you interested in attending a Summer Arts Camp at Claflin University?

If so, please stop by the guidance office for more information.

 

The US Attorney's Office is sponsoring the 16th Annual Project Sentry Logo/Meme Contest.

The statewide contest welcomes students to illustrate how we can help prevent gun violence in our schools by designing a logo or meme for use on upcoming Project Sentry publications.

If your logo or meme is selected as the winner from the high school division, then you will receive $50.00.

If your logo or meme is selected as the overall winner, then you will receive an additional $50.00.

Please stop by the guidance office if you would like additional information.

 

Attention Seniors!

Please see Mrs. Brady about a scholarship opportunity offered by SC Student Loan.

You can apply once a month to be entered into a drawing to win a $1000 scholarship.

 

Are you interested in learning more about the military academies?

US Senator Lindsey Graham is inviting interested students from across SC to participate in Military Academy Day 2019.

Representatives from the US Air Force Academy, US Coast Guard Academy, US Merchant Marine Academy, US Military Academy, US Naval Academy, ROTC, and US Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board will take part in the program.

The event is Saturday, March 30th at 10:00am at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia.

The Aiken County Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows Alliance is offering a scholarship.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2019.

The application for the Joye Law Firm Scholarship is available on the Senior Information Board.

This scholarship is worth $2000.

The application deadline is April 1, 2019.

 

Attention all Male Seniors!

The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is awarding its annual scholarship in the amount of $500 to male students who will be attending an accredited SC college or university.

Minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

The completed application must be postmarked by April 12, 2019.

Applications are available on the guidance bulletin board.

 

Clemson University is offering the Summer Scholars Program and offering exciting experiences for academically talented high school students in areas such as Audio Engineering and Music Production, Bioengineering, Genetic Horizon, Civil Engineering, Sports Communication, and Vet Camp.

The cost of the program is $950.00, and the tuition must be paid in full by April 1, 2019.

Seniors!

Are you the first in your family to go to college?

If so, the application for the George Rogers Foundation First in Family Scholarship is available.

The application deadline is April 12, 2019.

Applications are on the guidance bulletin board or in the guidance office.

 

The Crowning Lupus organization is offering two scholarships.

One scholarship is for students pursuing a nursing degree.

The other scholarship is for all students who are planning to attend a two or four-year college.

Applications are on the guidance bulletin board.

The application must be postmarked by April 15, 2019.

 

Seniors, the SC Caucus of Black School Board Members is offering a $500 scholarship to the winner of their 2019 Essay Contest.

This year's theme is "Presidential Leadership: What's going on at the National Level?"

This contest is open to African-American high school seniors enrolled in a SC Public School.

The application and essay must be postmarked by April 15, 2019.

Applications are available on the guidance bulletin board.

 

Seniors, there is another scholarship available through the Tywanza Sanders Legacy Foundation.

Scholarships range from $5000 to $1000.

This is an online application, so please grab an informational flyer from the guidance bulletin board to get the website.

The application deadline is April 15, 2019.

 

Attention Juniors: 

Clemson University is hosting a Clemson Career Workshop June 23-29.

If you are interested in participating in this program, please check out the flyers posted around the school or see Mrs. Brady.

The deadline to apply is April 15. 2019.

 

The Blackville Music and Art Scholarship is available.

You must be pursuing a degree in music or art and have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

The application deadline is April 15, 2019.

 

The Colleton-Bamberg Young Farmers Association has a scholarship worth $1000 available for students pursuing a degree in agriculture.

The application deadline is April 15, 2019.

 

Attention Seniors!

The application for the Big 7 Scholarship is available.

This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Williston-Elko High School.

The completed application is due to Mrs. Brady by April 26, 2019.

 

Seniors!

The application for the Barnwell County Career Center Scholarship is available.

The BCCC will be awarding four $500 scholarships.

You must have attended the Career Center at some point in your high school career.

The application is due April 26, 2019.

 

Seniors!

The application for the Inabinet-Morrow Scholarship is available.

This $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a student at WEHS and is being given by two WEHS alumni.

Applications are on the Senior Information board, and the deadline is May 1, 2019.

 

Peck Law Firm in Charleston will be awarding a $2000 scholarship to a senior.

The application deadline is May 31, 2019.

 

Attention Seniors!

If you are planning to pursue a degree in Criminology or Criminal Justice, there is a scholarship opportunity for you!

Also, if you are the child or stepchild of a member of the Police Benevolent Foundation, there are scholarship opportunities for you.

The application deadline is June 1, 2019.
