The Peck Law Firm is awarding a $ 2,000 scholarship to seniors.

To apply you must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and write an essay of no more than 1,000 words on the designated topic.

Regions Bank has a “Riding Forward” Scholarship Essay Contest.

You must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.0 or better, and plan to attend an accredited college during the 2018-2019 school year.

You must write about an African-American who inspired you.

Winners can receive either a $3,500 or $5,000 scholarship.

SC State Fair Scholarship is offering $ 6,000 ( 1,500 over four years) for those going to a four year college or university. 

Students pursuing a two-year degree will receive $ 1,500 over a two year period. 

You must be a senior and a resident of South Carolina.  You must also be planning to attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina.

Attention Seniors:

Guidance has applications for The Cleophas Screven Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Two $ 1,000 scholarship will be awards to 2 students in the Class of 2018.

To apply, you must be a graduating high school student, be planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college or university, and submit the application and required documents.

The Aiken Electric Cooperative has the following scholarship opportunities:

Touchstone Energy Scholarship- Two scholarships are awarded in the amount of $ 1,000 each.  

One scholarship will be awarded to a student attending a 4-year college and the second will be awarded to a student attending a 2-year technical school.   

The Trustee Scholarship  award is also for $ 1,000. 

The student must submit an explanation why the scholarship is needed.  

The primary residence of the application must be with Aiken Electric Cooperative.  

The deadline to apply for both scholarships is

March 1, 2018.

The SC Association of Extension Administrative Professionals has a $1,000 scholarship for students majoring in office secretarial science, computer science, or business management field.

Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest  is offering up  to $ 2,000 and a trip to Washington, DC by writing an essay discussing whether public school calendars should accommodate religious holidays.

Guidance has the following scholarship for females:

1. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports and Trophies by “M” Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in the medical field.

2. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Educator’s Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in education. An additional $1000.00 scholarship is awarded from these applications for a Female Scholar Athlete.

Deadline to apply for both is March 22, 2018.

The Greater Rome Foundation  is accepting applications for their Senior Scholarship. 

Student must be an African American senior graduating from high school in 2018. 

The student must submit a one page, 500 word or less essay describing how he/she overcame an adverse situation in his/her life and how they turned it into a positive outcome. 

The student must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be accepted into an institution of higher learning, and provide proof of community service activities. 

A recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor is also required.

The Joye Law Firm is offering $ 2,000 scholarships.  

 You must be a graduating senior in South Carolina who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning in the fall.

You must also submit a creative entry that warns of the dangers of drunk driving and/or distracted driving.

Attention Seniors:  

University of South Carolina has the following scholarships if you have been if you will enroll at their university:

Legacy Scholarship-awarded to incoming freshmen only. 

Criteria:  

-Seniors with at least one parent, legal guardian or grandparent must be a graduate of a University of South Carolina campus and a current member of My Carolina Alumni Association.

-Must have applied and be accepted to USC

-Score at least a 1240 on combined SAT math and critical reading sections (writing scores are not assessed).  Generally, an ACT score of at least 26 may be substituted for the SAT score

-Weighted GPA of at least 3.0 from an official high-school transcript (as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions) 

Amount:  $ 2,000 or $ 500 for four years

Richard T. Greener Scholarship

Criteria:  

-Applicants must be citizens of the United States. 

-Applicants must be graduating high school seniors. 

-Applicants must have applied for admission to the University of South Carolina. 

-Applicants must have an officially verified score of at least 1080 on the combined SAT Math and SAT Critical Reading sections (Carolina does not factor SAT Writing scores into scholarship selection.) Applicants must also have a weighted core course GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Generally, an ACT score of at least 21 may be substituted for the SAT score. 

-Applicants may apply regardless of income. 

-To be awarded the scholarship, applicants must be accepted for admission to the University of South Carolina. -

-Recipients must attend the University of South Carolina Columbia campus. 

-Recipients must be full-time students

Amount: $ 500 per academic year

The Colleton-Bamberg Young Farmers Association is offering  a $1,000 scholarship for high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in agriculture. 

You do  not  necessarily have to declare a major in agriculture, but you can major in another field and will use that degree on a farm or agribusiness venture after college.

The Tywanza Sanders Legacy Foundation is accepting applications for the 2018 Legacy Scholarship.

The foundation was established in honor of one of the victims of the Charleston Emanuel Church shooting. 

To apply, you must be a high school senior, graduating in 2018, plan to attend an accredited 4 year college/university in the fall, have a 2.5 GPA or higher, demonstrate financial need, and submit a written or video essay. 

Scholarship amounts range from $ 500 to $ 5,000.

The Barnwell County Career Center is now accepting applications for their 17-18 scholarship.

To apply, the student must (1) be a graduating senior at one of Barnwell county high schools; (2) must have attended the Career Center at some point in his her high school years. Preference is given to completers of career and technology programs.
