Illness Protocol

Illness Protocol

ILLNESS PROTOCOL:  Students and faculty with a temperature of 100.0 F or higher are required to stay home from school. Students and staff may not return to school until the fever has been gone for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.  Students and faculty may not participate in school or school activities if they are experiencing vomiting and/or diarrhea. 

For a complete listing of conditions that are listed on the SC DHEC “School Exclusion List” visit http://www.scdhec.gov/Health/docs/School_Exclusion_List.pdf or contact your School Nurse.  A copy of the District's "ILLNESS PROTOCOL" is available on the District web page and in the student handbook.

***Remind your child to wash his/her hands after toileting, coughing, sneezing, and before eating. Encourage him/her to cough and sneeze into a tissue. The best way to prevent the spread of disease and illness is thorough hand-washing. Use a hand sanitizing product if soap and water are not immediately available.***
