National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) is observed every February around the world, and is sponsored by the American Dental Association® (ADA) and their public oral hygiene resource – Mouth Healthy™. Children, from infants to toddlers to teenagers, must be taught the importance of good oral health, and the techniques to achieve it. I want to thank our maintenance staff along with Kelly Edwards Elementary faculty and staff for being so flexible and accommodating - making sure our main focus of teaching children is able to continue.

This years’ observance of School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is the week of May 5-9, 2014.

Driving a school bus is often unappreciated and overlooked; yet, without a doubt school bus drivers have one of the most difficult and demanding jobs in our educational system. There are not many jobs, not matter the occupation, where one moment of inattention, or one simple mistake, can place the safety of fifty to seventy children in jeopardy. . In our state we have over 5,600 school bus drivers. They transport more than 535,000 students to and from school each school day and travel over 73 million miles a year.

Thank a Bus Driver today!
