Guidance

Welcome to the Guidance Department at WEHS!

Mrs.Linda Mack is the Guidance Counselor and Mrs. Cathy Smith is the Career Specialist. Working as a close team, they hope to accomplish many things this school year!

The purpose of the guidance program is to help each student succeed in the areas of personal/social, academic, and career development.   Services include classroom guidance, individual counseling, group counseling, crisis counseling, consultation and referral. IGP conferences are held annually to assist students and parents in exploring and deciding on post-secondary decisions. A referral to guidance can be made in person, via telephone, or email. To contact Mrs. Mack, her email is lmack@williston.k12.sc.us or 266-8046.

Mrs. Smith serves as the Career Specialist at Williston-Elko High School. Career Exploration is a big part of the guidance office. The students are given opportunities to take field trips, go job shadowing, participate in Work- Based Learning, take career assessment tests, and research their top career choices. Throughout high school, they will learn about job skills, finding jobs and creating a resume. The guidance office has abundant information to assist the students. For more information, visit her website or contact Mrs. Smith at csmith@williston.k12.sc.us or 266-8047.

Mrs. Mack and Mrs. Smith will work hard together to make high school a wonderful experience for our students!
